How to read this
None of these are errors. An adverb in the right place is doing work. The number
beside each one only tells you how often you reach for the same move, and reaching for it
forty times in a chapter is the thing a reader notices.
Filter words put a narrator between the reader and the scene.
She saw the door open is one step further away than
the door opened, and a chapter of them reads like a report.
Tools will only take you so far
Send what you have. Even a half-written manuscript is enough for a reader to tell you what it needs.
