Western Reflections, in our own words
Western Reflections Publishing Company is an independent publishing house based in Lake City, Colorado. Our story is told in the film alongside, in our own words. The short version: we publish books, and we work with authors who want their book made properly rather than made quickly.
Alongside the catalogue we offer the services authors keep asking us for. Ghostwriting for those with the story but not the sentences, editing for those with the draft but not the distance, and design, audio and distribution for anyone who wants their book to stand on a shelf without apology.
Submissions go to editors, not a queue. If a book is not right for us we say so and explain why, which is the only useful thing a publisher can give a writer they are turning down.
A house started by book lovers
The publishing company was started by a group of book lovers who are skilled in the art of developing writers' and artists' works and introducing those works to an interested public. The group is committed to developing works that reflect individuals who, like us, love the history, beauty, and culture of Colorado, our home. It is the attention to the integrity of the work itself along with the artist's vision of that work that distinctly separates us from publishers of mass market books.
It is our hope that the works we publish represent our love and respect for the land that nurtures the very spirit of humanity: life lived with strength and grace.
