Alfred Castner King, the Blind Poet of the San Juans, lived in Ouray, Colorado, near the end of the Nineteenth Century. A hard rock miner blinded in a mining accident before he started putting his poetry to paper, King used only his memory to describe the awe and splendor of Colorado
