Denver Days

In 1882 Mrs. Neal takes ten-year-old Katie and moves to Denver to work for the well-loved black woman, Aunt Clara Brown. Katie makes a Christmas tree out of tumbleweeds, tastes her first ice cream soda, meets her first Native American, and learns to ride a bicycle, as well as many other adventures. Denver Days is one of the books in the Children of Colorado Series, which includes A Cabin in Cripple Creek and One Golden Summer. Expect more books in this fascinating series that are written at a Third or Fourth Grade level. The interesting plots will, however, appeal to children (and adults) of all ages.
